Doodle that killed the empty wall.

Doodling this wall was a weird experience. This happened last july after I "quit" my job and went back home to wonder. I was bored of work, was fatigued by unexpected hospital visits and needed something exciting to do.

A smart phone app company called SWITCH based in Hyderabad was looking to make their start up office more fun. I knew the guys who started the company and they asked me if I could doodle one of their office walls.I obviously agreed. For the next 30 odd days I doodled like a mad person.

Armed with black permanent POSCA markers,a cleaning cloth and a foldable ladder my adventure began.
I would doodle for about 3-4 hours every afternoon.

I started with doodle characters and their random banter.

Then began the long texturing process.
If you look closely at the picture below you will notice the difference in background, an area with texture and the area without.

This background doodling was extremely intricate, i thought it would never end. Also, I moved to fine tip markers for the texturing so it took waaaaaaaay longer than I had anticipated!

I used about 20 thick markers for the doodle characters and 40+ thin markers for the doodle textures.

The sad part of this story is these guys recently shifted their office.
On the whole it was fun!
I can't wait to kill some more empty walls.

Tools : Posca Black Marker pens, Faber Castell fine tip black markers.
